Emerald Physics EP-3.7 Controlled Directivity Loudspeaker.

The EP-3.7 looks the same as the 3.0 and 3.4, just updated in some way.

They do make this claim: “Our controlled dispersion design eliminates most listening room anomalies, allowing the EP-3.7 to sound great in virtually all rooms”. Personally, I’m not so sure about this claim they make. I’ve never heard of any speaker set that can do that because the fact is that rooms effect speakers, not the other way around. That’s why speaker placement, set up and room treatments when required are paramount to getting optimum performance from speakers in any given situation. This doesn’t mean their speakers aren’t good. I’ve heard two models and thought that while not quite to my personal taste, they sound fine. As always, please find a way to listen to them thoroughly before purchase.

I heard these at the Newport show last year (2015). I don’t recall the details and did not take detailed notes for some reason. What I do see from my notes is that they were not bad for the price point and not as good as some others and better than some other speakers in the same range.
Also available in a Pro edition for a good chunk more, which gets the nicer finish and 4-pole Linkwitz Transform Function analog EQ to extend the bass response to 35Hz, but still keeps things in the affordable range.
